Flu and Swine Flu Vaccinations

Seasonal Flu Vaccinations - We are currently running seasonal flu clinics for people in the 'at risk' categories below:

It is recommended you have a flu jab if you are 65 or over, or have:

  • chronic (long-term) respiratory disease, such as severe asthma, COPD or bronchitis,

  • chronic heart disease, such as heart failure,

  • chronic kidney disease,

  • chronic liver disease,

  • chronic neurological disease, such as Parkinson's disease or motor neurone disease,

  • diabetes,

  • a weakened immune system due to disease (such as HIV/AIDS) or treatment (such as cancer treatment), or are on DMARDS (e.g. Methotrexate medication)

or you:

  • are the main carer for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if you fall ill,

  • work with poultry

To book your seasonal flu vaccination please call your doctor's receptionist who will be able to make your appointment.

If you do not wish to have a seasonal flu vaccination and fall into one of the categories above, please let us know so we can document this on your medical records.

Swine Flu Vaccinations

Patients who fall into the 'at risk' categories above will also be invited in for a swine flu vaccination.  Please wait to receive your invitation letter before you book your appointment.

If you fall into one of these categories and do not wish to have the swine flu vaccination please let us know so we can document that you have declined the vaccination in your medical records.
