Chronic Heart Disease Clinic

Some of the illnesses seen in this clinic include heart attacks, angina, strokes, palpitations (irregular heart rhythms) and left ventricular failure.

Patients are seen every 6months alternating between a doctor and a nurse.



Checks that are done by both doctors and nurses include:

  • Blood Pressure
  • Exercise levels
  • Smoking levels
  • Alcohol levels
  • Pulse check

Monitoring that is done by a doctor includes:

  • Reviewing blood tests
  • Reviewing ECGs
  • Changing prescriptions
  • Discussing any new symptoms or concerns

Monitoring that is done by a nurse includes:

  • Yearly weight check
  • Yearly urine check
  • To discuss any concerns that a patient may have
  • Taking ECGs
  • Discussion on exercise
  • Discussion on diet

The aim of this clinic is to detect any changes that may affect a patient’s health, so that the correct treatment can be provided, ideally at an early stage.

Opening Times


The Chronic Heart Disease Clinic opening times are as follows:

 Thursday  4:00pm - 5:00pm
 Friday  8:30am - 12:30pm
