Why have we got the new automatic check-in screen?
We have installed the automatic check-in screen for the following reasons:
- Saves queuing to book in
- Improves confidentiality problems at the front desk
- Patients are seen in the right order
- It frees up the receptionists, to allow them to answer the phone
Why can't I find a parking space in the surgery car park?
Our car park is relatively small but:
- We have very limited space for patients only
- There is a large public car park next door
Why do you take a long time to answer the phone?
It is best to contact your doctor’s receptionist using their direct dial numbers
- At very busy times there can be up to 24 incoming calls
- There are a maximum of 7 receptionists to answer the phone
- Please leave non urgent calls until after 11:30am
Why can't I get an appointment when I want to be seen?
We try to accommodate whenever we can but this is not always possible. The duty doctor is always available for urgent problems.
Why don't you open later and on Saturday mornings?
Emergency doctors are available from 6:00pm on Friday to 8:00am on Monday.
We are now open extended hours:
Monday 8:30am - 8:00pm
Tuesday to Friday 7:30am - 6:30pm
Why have all the 'on day' appointments gone by 8:45am?
This is not always so, but can happen especially following bank holiday, Christmas, Easter breaks.
Why don't you take repeat prescriptions over the phone?
Safety reasons dictate that we have a written request for all medication required.
Why can't I have my prescription now or at least not wait three working days?
Please see the following chart to explain how your prescription request is dealt with at the surgery.
How do I find out about my test results?
Please ring for results or to make general enquiries after 11:30am. 8:30am to 11:30am is a very busy time in reception and often results are not received at the Medical Centre until later in the morning.
Please note that x-ray results may take up to 10 days to reach the surgery
